AT THE BIRTHPLACE OF EVERY ACTION ___Sunday (08/09/2026): St. Worships & Gospel Demos with San Francisco County Neighbors
Every action has a birthplace, and that birthplace is the human heart. Before the hand moves, before the tongue speaks, before goodness becomes service or evil becomes harm, intention has already begun its journey within. It is at this hidden threshold that conscience becomes essential, discerning the direction of the will and calling it toward what is good. Self-control then stands as the guardian between intention and action, preventing passing desires from becoming destructive deeds and allowing righteous intentions to mature into faithful character. For this reason, the deepest transformation of human life cannot begin merely by regulating outward behavior; it must begin where behavior itself is conceived. The Gospel enters this invisible territory of the heart, revealing our need for mercy when conscience has been ignored and directing us toward the forgiveness accomplished through Jesus Christ. At the birthplace of every action, therefore, lies both a responsibility and an invitation: to guard the first movement of the heart, to listen when conscience speaks, and, when we fail, to return to the Cross where mercy restores what sin has broken.
